Spike's DietThis is my first Bearded Dragon Spikes diet details, her gallery's show how quickly she has grown. Spike is currently just over three years of age and has grown to a healthy 20". She has been this size since she was around two years of age and now seems to just be putting weight on. Spike didn't take long to start eating some of her greens, namely parsley and grated carrot. >Twelve MonthsCrickets still over 75% of diet, however I started to offer more greens. Spike had well and truly taken to her greens as part of her diet and more often than not would eat these prior to crickets. She seems to particularly like grated carrot as she will always eat it first. Adult>A few waxworms offered once a month as well as a few mealworms per week. Spike was 18 months old before offering giant mealworms. Spike at one year was introduced to some fruit, she has grown to love her fruit and greens. I try and offer her a varied diet as I wouldn't want to eat the same to often either. She now eats 60% greens and the remainder as crickets, waxworms and mealworms. WarningDo not feed your Bearded Dragon fire flies as these can be fatal. Do not feed your Bearded Dragon mealworms until at least one year old (giant mealworms minimum 18 months). Jump to main page |
